Doors FAQs
Prefinished doors are ready to hand and are factory finished. Unfinished doors are prepared ready for finish of your choice. Walnut doors are only available prefinished. Oak doors are available in either prefinished or unfinished. White primed doors are primed ready to be painted the colour of your choice.
FD30 doors have been built to withstand a fire for 30 minutes and FD60 doors a fire of 60 minutes.
Our feature doors are constructed using an FSC high density particle board core, oak, walnut or ash veneer is used. Lippings of oak, walnut or ash veneer are finally added according to the door finish.
Depending on the door design, we use different types of glass. Our clear glazed doors feature clear toughened glass or bevelled toughened glass – this is specified on each of our products. Obscure glazed doors all feature obscure glazed toughened glass. FD30 glazed doors all feature Pilkington glass. This has been extensively texted to ensure that it offers the very best in fire safety.
A maximum total of 32mm can be taken off the width and the height of a standard or metric door. The maximum trimming allowance for FD30 Doors is 30mm. Trimming must be completed in equal increments.
Yes, all of our products come with a 10-year warranty. This warranty covers our products against manufacturing faults and does not cover general wear and tear.
We recommend the use of 3 ball-bearing hinges per door due to the solid and heavy construction of our doors.
